Performances of Ufa ophthalmologists received the highest rating at the European Congress in Italy

Ophthalmologists of Ufa research Institute of eye diseases of the Academy of Sciences of Belarus took part in the work of the XXX Congress of the European society of cataract and refractive surgeons (ESCRS), held in Milan. At the same time with this forum there was also held a few large events: 12 the Congress of the EURETINA society, 3rd Congress of the society EuCornea and the 2nd world Congress of the society of pediatric ophthalmologists and strabismologists (World Congress of Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus — WCPOS). Only in Italy was attended by over 10 thousand specialists from all over the world. In the program were presented modern methods of diagnostics of eye diseases, the latest technology in cataract surgery – femtosecond laser-assistant cataract surgery, discussed the issues of implanting the latest multifocal, toric, phakic IOL, anterior and posterior lamellar keratoplasty, topical problems of refractive surgery. As have informed Agency "Bashinform" Deputy Director Ufrii eye diseases for scientific and production work of Natalia Shevchuk, in Ufa ophthalmologists, presented six reports. Great interest of foreign experts at the session EuCornea caused the report of the Director of the Institute Muharram Bikbov: and his colleagues of Azat Khalimova "Ophtalmic solution for corneal crosslinking with riboflavin and chitosan". In the session on cataract surgery in children, in addition to Muharram Bikbov: made by Ildar Shaidullin. High assessment was given to the report prepared by Guzel and Muharram Bigmovie on the use of PocketMaker device in the production of transplants for automated endothelial keratoplasty, the authors have received the prestigious award "Innovation Award — 2012" for contribution to development of ophthalmology, which demonstrates the international recognition of the Ufa Institute.
