Participation in the work of Educational glaucoma workshop, Moscow, 1-2 April 2016
Head of the II microsurgical Department, candidate of medical Sciences I. I. Khusnitdinov took part in the work of Educational glaucoma seminar, which was held in Moscow on 1-2 April 2016 with the support of Santen. During the seminar were presented the reports of leading specialists, covering all aspects of the diseases of the eye: modern diagnosis, classification, medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma. Special attention was paid to the relations between doctor and patient suffering from glaucoma. No less interesting were the reports about side effects of medical therapy of glaucoma, methods of their prevention and treatment. Prof. Erichev V. P. in his report showed the adverse effects of the preservative included in the composition of the drugs on the state of the conjunctiva, which ultimately reduces the hypotensive effect of glaucoma surgery. Prof. Egorov E. A. focused on the fact that only 60% of patients suffering from glaucoma need medication, others need surgery. The second day of the seminar was devoted to improving skills of presentations, lectures and conferences.
