The delegation of the Ufa research Institute of eye diseases participated in the work of the 36 th Congress of the ESCRS
A large delegation of the Ufa research Institute of eye diseases, headed by Director of the Institute, Professor M. M. Bikbov took part in the work of the 36th Congress of the European society of cataract and refractive surgeons (ESCRS). The Congress was held September 22-26, 2018 in Vienna, Austria, and was held in the modern exhibition center Reed Messe Wien Congress Center.
At the opening ceremony of the Congress participants were welcomed by the President of the ESCRS B. Cochener, who noted that the main task of the European society of cataract and refractive surgeons – training and education of its members.
In the Congress participated more than 9,000 ophthalmologists from 123 countries. In total, there were 572 of the oral report, 16 symposia and 120 training courses 77 courses Wetlab system. The meetings were addressed almost all aspects of cataract and refractive surgery, treatment of complications, inflammatory eye diseases, glaucoma. Much attention was paid to the results of the application of corneal crosslinking in the treatment of ectasia etc was followed by a session of young scientists, videosession.
Another important section for members is the "Poster village" (Poster Village), an interactive part of the conference where authors present their work and communicate with the audience in a less formal setting. "Poster village" is very popular with delegates wishing to hold a direct conversation with their colleagues, and is a key part of the scientific program.
