XXX Congress of the European society of cataract and refractive surgeons
From 6 to 12 September in Milan (Italy) hosted the XXX Congress of the European society of cataract and refractive surgeons (ESCRS), which was attended by a delegation of 11 employees of SBI "Ufa research Institute of eye diseases of the Academy of Sciences of Belarus". Simultaneously with the ESCRS was held 12 companies EURETINA Congress, the 3rd EuCornea Congress of the society and the 2nd world Congress of the Society of Pediatric ophthalmologists and strabismologists (World Congress of Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus - WCPOS).
In the United the Congress was attended by over 10 thousand ophthalmologists from different countries of the world. The venue for all events selected Milan Convention centre MiCo is one of the largest not only in Europe but in the world. He has 70 meeting rooms and the possibility of catering to more than 18 thousand participants. The exhibition area, which is always one of the most significant events of the congresses of ESCRS, can reach 54 000 square meters.

Ufa ophthalmologists presented 6 papers. So, at session EuCornea aroused great interest the report of M. M. Bikbov: A. R. Khalimova "Ophtalmic solution for corneal crosslinking with riboflavin and chitosan".
In the session on cataract surgery in children, presented the report of I. S. Zaidullin, M. M. Bikbov: "Intraocular correction with toric IOLs in combined surgery of cataracts with corneal astigmatism in children".
Appreciation was expressed for the report Bikbova G. M. and M. M. Bikbov: on the use of PocketMaker device in the production of transplants for automated endothelial keratoplasty, the authors have received the prestigious award "InnovationAward - 2012" for contribution to development of ophthalmology.
