Participation in 50th Jubilee International Сonference of TOD - Turkish Ophthalmology Society. November 9 -13, 2016, Antalya, Turkey.

On 9 -13 November 2016 Antalya (Turkey) held the 50th Jubilee International Conference of TOD - Turkish Society of Ophthalmologists. This year's conference was held in the Maxx Royal Hotel, Belek.
Traditionally, this conference attracts not only ophthalmologists from Turkey but many Turkic-speaking countries and republics of Europe, Asia and America. For about 2500 delegates from Turkey and more than 200 representatives of foreign countries participated in the conference.

The conference was devoted to all aspects of ophthalmology including the diagnosis and treatment of anterior and posterior eye segments, neuro- and pediatric ophthalmology, ocular oncology.

The conference also took constitutive meetings and scientific sessions of TCOD - Society of Ophthalmologists of Turkic-speaking countries which has 86 members in the Republic of Bashkortostan.

At the meeting of TCOD Professor M. Bikbov made a report about Ufa Eye Research Institute, eye care in the Republic of Bashkortostan and discussed a number of issues of international cooperation, including cooperation in the framework of TCOD. The holder of Doctorate degree in Medicine E. Usubov as a coordinator of TCOD work in the Asian region spoke about the role of young scientists in the domestic ophthalmology and possible prospects of participation of  Bashkir and Russian ophthalmologists in international educational programs.

The scientific program of Ufa Eye Research Institute of Eye Diseases was presented an oral report - "Acanthamoeba keratitis. Differentiated surgical approach to treatment."

Traditionally, there was an exhibition of modern ophthalmic equipment, instruments and pharmaceutical products.

Thus, participation in the conference allowed us to show the capabilities of our ophthalmic school at the international level and to establish contacts with foreign colleagues.
