Participation of Ufa Eye Research Institute in «EuCornea - 2016» and «ESCRS - 2016" Congresses.

The Delegation of Ufa Eye Research Institute headed by the Director, prof. M.M. Bikbov took part in the 7th EuCornea Congress (September 9-10, 2016) and the 34th Congress of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons "ESCRS - 2016" (September 10-14, 2016). Both Congresses took place in the modern Congress center BellaCenter, Copenhagen (Denmark).
In general, the congress was attended by 10 thousand delegates from more than 130 countries who discussed the most topical issues of ophthalmology.

EuCornea scientific program consisted of main sessions and oral presentations, satellite symposia and training courses which were held simultaneously in three halls. The topical issues were the use of different types of keratoplasty in patients with corneal pathology, treatment of keratoconus (also by crosslinking), eye injuries, "dry eye syndrome" and others.

The scientific program of the ESCRS included more than 40 oral presentation sessions, 30 symposia and 80 training courses. Sessions were held simultaneously in 8 rooms and were devoted to cataract surgery (including the use of femtosecond laser and its complications, the results of the implantation of different types of IOL and its calculation, correction of refractive disorders, etc.

At ESCRS Ufa Eye Research Institute staff presented 8 reports. The head of children' microsurgical department, MD PhD I.S. Zaydullin presented an oral report on the session on the use of laser-assisted cataract surgery:

The exhibition was attended by all the leading companies - manufacturers of ophthalmic equipment, instruments and consumables.
Participation of the Ufa Eye Research Institute in international forums such as ESCRS and EuCornea congresses indicates a high level of scientific research and recognition of the Institute by International ophthalmic community.
