Working visit of Ufa Eye Research Institute delegation in ophthalmic clinics of London.


17.JPGOn September 17 in the course of the business trip to joint European Congress of Ophthalmology delegation of Ufa Eye Research Institute headed by director prof. M.M. Bikbov visited ophthalmic clinics in London.
 At the invitation of famous ophthalmologist, professor Baron Charles Claoue De Gohr UERI staff gained a familiarity with the Queen's Hospital and The Wellington Hospital in London.
Queen’s Hospital is a large multi-field institution. Guests from Ufa got acquainted with hospital structure,1.jpg took a look at ophthalmology clinic including emergency department, consulting, diagnosis and orthoptic departments; looked over operating units and bed wards in treatment section, learned about conducted surgeries and peculiarities of post-operation patient management.

Besides, prof. Charles Claoue and financial director of the clinic Alan Davies read a lecture on aspects of national health care and delivery of ophthalmic care in Great Britain.
The Wellington Hospital is one of the largest private clinics and has about 40 years of experience in treatment of patients from Great Britain and other countries. The Wellington Hospital provides assistance in key areas of medicine such as neurosurgery, cardiology, orthopedics, acute neurological rehabilitation, gynecology, etc.
The invited guests visited diagnosis and treatment sections, operating units, listened to the lecture devoted to topical issues in Organization of Health Care in The Wellington Hospital. Hospital Staff indicated the willingness to extend the range of services offered to patients from Russia.
This visit reflects the development of international cooperation and sharing experience in the field of ophthalmology.
